Turkey-Syria earthquake
Early in the morning of the 6th of Februari 2023 a Mw 7.8 earthquake hit the border of Turkey and Syria. Nine hours later another Mw 7.7 earthquake struck. Together they caused massive destruction with a result of tens of thousands lives lost, well over hundred thousand injured and 2,4 million people got displaced. The Regional Director for Europe for World Health Organization's Hans Kluge said it was the "worst natural disaster in the WHO European Region for a century,".

Turkey-Syria earthquake
